Amy was an intern with the Association for Diplomatic Studies and Training (ADST) at the Foreign Services Institute (FSI). There she writes pieces for the web page and conducts research.
“My internship has greatly enhanced my educational experience in many ways. There are the wonderful oral histories, but there is so much more offered at ADST. Interns are welcome to sit in the interviews as they are conducted, plus we have the opportunity to attend many of the Foreign Service Institute courses and lectures on FSI campus and at the State Department.
One such lecture was about NASA’s plans to get astronauts to Mars, and how world diplomacy is mission critical with a multitude of states working together to build the best rocket ships. I even met rocket scientists, which was amazing.”
