Welcome New Students

Mason’s global affairs degree is designed for students who are interested in international affairs and the global processes that affect all societies.

As a global affairs major, you will study with international experts and learn about global politics, economics, culture, and international development. You will study specific geographic regions and investigate the ways in which they are shaped by these global processes.

In global affairs, you will start with a common set of courses and choose a concentration. You can focus on a theme (the global economy, international development, the environment, the arts, etc.) or on a world region (Africa, Asia, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, or Russia and Central Asia).

As a global affairs graduate, you will have an understanding of historical and contemporary global trends, advanced language skills. Students are encouraged to study abroad.

Our students are well prepared for an international career or advanced graduate study.
