Section Information for Fall 2019
This class will explore movements around the globe devoted to creating or resisting social change. We will discuss the origins of social movements, various theories about how these movements work, and differing ideas about what constitutes success. We will survey a variety of tactics, including education, the creation of alternative institutions, the use of social media, demonstrations, and more.
