Professor Cheng is a polyglot who is fluent in five of the ten major world languages and speaks many others.
Professor Cheng has over 30 years of international professional experience in international executive education, international business, trade promotion and economic development. He has taught courses in International Business, Global Marketing, and International Corporate Strategy at the MBA level for top Australian and New Zealand graduate schools of management.
Before joining George Mason University, he was previously the Chair of School for the School of Marketing, International Business, and Asian Studies at the University of Western Sydney in Australia, and Associate Professor and Director of MBA at the Graduate School of Business and Government Management at the Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand, and a senior adviser to the New Zealand government in national economic development and trade promotion strategy. He was also an international trade executive for the Hong Kong Trade Development Council.
Professor Cheng has a strong knowledge and successful experience in helping high level international business clients and government officials to understand how they can be best positioned to leverage innovation, sustainable competitive advantage, and international relationships for integrated investment, economic growth, exports, and global competitiveness.
