Matthys van Schaik is the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs at George Mason University’s School of Public Policy. His research interests combine the fields of international relations and library science, with a focus on international information and data sources.
He has held teaching positions at the University of the Witwatersrand and Rand Afrikaans University, both in Johannesburg, South Africa. He received a Ph.D. in International Studies from the University of South Carolina. Dean van Schaik’s dissertation centered on the political economy of regional development banks.
