BA in Global Affairs
Concentrations
Nathan Ludwig, 2014
At Mason, he is pursuing a major in global affairs with a concentration in global governance. He plans to pursue minors in intelligence analysis and Arabic. He has put together a program of language study, internship experience, and study abroad to match his interests and career goal of working in the intelligence services.
He was named a Critical Language Scholar by the US State Department, which will enable him to study Arabic abroad.
Nathan's internship fulfilled a dream of working on Capitol Hill. In the office of his home congressman, he conducted research on policy issues related to the military, veterans affairs, and Medicare/Medicaid.
While Mason has a high level of diversity, Nathan and some friends recognized that "diversity is often represented in pockets of exclusivity." Because "diversity is much less a demographic statistic ... than a process which must be fostered and sustained," they founded Cultural Integration Association to bring together diverse individuals.
For his academic accomplishments as well as his contributions to the Mason community, Nathan received the Dean's Challenge Scholarship for 2012-2013.
