Anagha Sreevals, Global Affairs major with a concentration in International Development, won a Boren Award for the Indonesian Flagship Language Initiative (2021-22) and took part in the Southeast Asian Studies Summer Institute (SEASSI) at the University of Wisconsin, Madison in Summer 2021. To continue language studies, Anagha applied to The Southeast Asian Language Council (SALC), a national organization that aims to improve SE Asian language teaching programs through the support and professional development of instructors, with support from the Henry Luce Foundation. The Graduate Education and Training in Southeast Asian Studies (GETSA), also supported by the Henry Luce Foundation, is a consortium with the mission of enhancing graduate education in Southeast Asian studies across North America. Together they have created the SEALC-GETSEA Language Tuition Awards. Anagha has been awarded a SEALC-GETSA Language Tuition Award in the 2021-22 cycle and will partake in SEASSI again in Summer 2022 before going to Indonesia in the Fall.
