Global Affairs MA student paper implemented with United States Marine Corps

Shannon PachecoGlobal Affairs MA student Shannon Pacheco conducted fascinating and groundbreaking research on child soldiers in Africa Shannon researched child soldiers in Africa and the implications on security force assistance missions for her capstone course (GLOA 720). The new Translational Research Center at the United States Marine Corps Center for Advanced Operational Culture Learning (CAOCL) is now using Shannon’s research to provide subject matter expertise on issues related to child soldiers in Africa. The Regional, Culture, and Language Familiarization (RCLF) program is also using her paper as a supplemental resource to assist Marine officers who have been assigned Africa upon graduation from The Basic School (TBS) in becoming more adept at operating effectively in a culturally complex environment.
