Recent MA graduate, Cate Welch, was recently published in the November/December issue of the IEEE Internet Computing Magazine. The article, edited by Professor Stephen Ruth, was based on the Department of State’s announcement of a new policy on global Internet freedom. The policy, though new and still evolving, has attracted domestic and international attention since its announcement. This article explores the evolution of the policy, domestic efforts to enact it, and international reactions to the policy, with a focus on China.
