Section Information for Fall 2023
This course introduces students to the key concepts of comparative politics, comparative methods, and theoretical and analytical tools used in social sciences broadly. The themes include logical explanations, games of politics, state formation, regime types, democratization, determinants, and consequences of differing types of political rules. The course is structured to help students understand the existence of different types of political systems; political processes and outcomes based on the rational choice of actors involved; and their implications for the globalized world today.
