Foreign Languages, MA and Global Affairs, MA Dual Degree

Foreign Languages, MA and Global Affairs, MA Dual Degree

The Global Affairs Program and the Department of Foreign Languages offer a dual master's program. Under this program, students can earn a Foreign Languages MA with a concentration in Spanish-Bilingual/Multicultural Education, Spanish, or French and a Global Affairs MA with 48 credits rather than 60 credits. This is governed by university policy AP.6.9.6.

Application Requirements

Applicants to all graduate programs at George Mason University must meet the admission standards and application requirements for graduate study as specified in Graduate Admissions.

Requirements

Students pursuing a dual master's program, which includes the Foreign Languages MA with a concentration in Spanish-Bilingual/Multicultural Education, Spanish, or French, and the Global Affairs MA, can share 12 credits between the two programs.

When completing the application and selecting the dual master’s program option, students should address their interest in both MA programs in their Goal Statements. The recommenders should be aware of this interest.

An example of how the credits can be unique to each program and how they could be shared is available here (coming soon).

Students will receive two separate decision letters.
