Ecuador Study Abroad Info Session: Sustainable Futures

In this info session, we will discuss this summer's faculty-led study abroad to Ecuador. This two-week seminar takes Ecuador as a case study in order to explore sustainable development through a social science lens. In partnership with the Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ), students will spend the first week at USFQ’s scenic Cumbayá campus, engaging in morning seminars with local scholars whose work spans political science, sociology, environmental policy, and development studies. Afternoon site visits will allow students to examine how questions of sustainability intersect with governance, inequality, indigenous rights, and urban development in one of Latin America's most ecologically and culturally diverse countries.

In the second week, students will travel to the Galápagos Islands for a few days, where academic sessions continue at USFQ’s campus in San Cristóbal.
