Join us for a screening of Milk of Sorrow (2009), an Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film that tells the story of a young woman scarred by the violence her mother faced while pregnant and the measures she takes to avoid a similar fate.

This event also features Dr. Kimberly Theidon, medical anthropologist and Harvard University professor, whose research on the sexual violence experienced by Peruvian women during the country's recent civil war was the inspiration for the film. A reception will follow the film screening.

Sponsored by Global Interdisciplinary Programs, Latin American Studies, and the Transitional and Transnational Justice Working Group at the Center for Global Studies.
