Your Global Story Starts Now!
The Global Affairs Program at George Mason University encourages students to explore contemporary issues from a variety of perspectives. The Global Affairs Program brings together political, economical, social, cultural, and other lenses to explore the world’s most pressing challenges and the trends that will shape the future.
Our program offers both BA and MA degrees in Global Affairs, including an accelerated Bachelor ’s-Master’s program where you can complete both degrees in as little as five years. Our BA students can also complete their degree at George Mason’s campus in South Korea.
Our BA students learn about peace and conflict, globalization and culture, environmental policy around the world, the global economy, and international politics. All our undergraduates have a concentration in a global theme (e.g., global governance) or world region (e.g., Latin America).
Our MA students gain advanced training in methods and theories addressing global issues and choose one of four specializations: Global Conflict & Security, Global Culture & Media, Global Governance & Economy, or Global Development & Sustainability. Deep engagement in a world region is a hallmark of the MA in Global Affairs.
At both the BA and MA levels, you will learn from faculty experts in small classes; most of our undergraduate classes are 25 students or fewer, and many graduate seminars are under 12 students. Your professors will know who you are and what motivates you to study global affairs. Our degree programs prepare our students for careers in the private sector, the government, international organizations, and non-profit sectors.
