GLOA 695: Internship 

On-the-job training related to the Global Affairs MA through an approved internship. You may apply up to 3 credits of GLOA 695 to your declared specialization.

Who is eligible for enrollment in GLOA 695?

Enrollment is open to only current Accelerated or MA Global Affairs students who have:

  • earned a total of 6 graduate credits
  • successfully completed GLOA 600 and GLOA 610 or GLOA 615
  • have a 3.0 GPA overall

How many credits can I earn?

Anywhere from 1 to 3 credits. The number of credits you receive for GLOA 695 is tied to the amount of work you complete at your internship site. May be repeated within the term for a maximum of 9 credits. 

For 1 credit: 

  • Work at least 45 hours over the course of 8 weeks
  • Fulfill all requirements as outlined in the syllabus 

For 2 credits: 

  • Work at least 90 hours over the course of 8 weeks
  • Fulfill all requirements as outlined in the syllabus
  • Submit monthly check-ins to the instructor of GLOA 695  

For 3 credits:

  • Work at least 135 hours over the course of 8 weeks
  • Fulfill all requirements as outlined in the syllabus
  • Create learning objectives in consultation with the instructor of GLOA 695
  • Submit monthly check-ins to the instructor of GLOA 695  

Please note that in order to earn academic credit, you must pay tuition for the course.
