Hi! Welcome to my website. I'm thrilled to be teaching at Mason, it's very familiar territory, having spent much of my career teaching outstanding students at flagship state universities in Massachusetts and California. What to know about my courses and teaching? I'm teaching one of the most exciting courses at Mason, Global Affairs 101, which introduces students to the core concept of our modern world: Globalization. How did I get here? I went to graduate school and wrote a couple of books and a few other academic publications, and I even got involved in politics sometimes. One book was technically a doctoral dissertation, and you can find it here:

and you can buy the other book here:

I love higher education, it's the premier avenue for human flourishing and also critical for a democratic society. I'm here at Mason part-time, and full-time, I teach at Northern Virginia Community College, one of the largest community colleges in the United States, and the nationally recognized partner for Mason in furthering educational opportunities for students in Virginia. Stop by the Global Affairs office during my office hours to say hello, or send me an e-mail. Also feel free to review my teaching performance online, that's always a popular pastime ;)
