International and Comparative Political Economy

Ji Hye Lim is an assistant professor and faculty advisor in the Global Affairs Program. Her research sits at the intersection of international and comparative political economy, particularly focusing on economic liberalization and development. She has a broader theoretical interest in how economic institutions affect a country’s development. She specializes in developmental states, foreign direct investment and bilateral investment treaties with a regional focus on East Asia. Her current research focuses on impacts of foreign direct investment on sustainable development in developing and emerging countries. She joined the faculty at George Mason University Korea in 2020. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from George Mason University.
